Dr. Tony Faseeh Salaam, PhD, LCSW

Dr. Tony Salaam brings over two decades of dedicated service in social work, focused on trauma-informed care for marginalized communities. With a Master of Social Work from Chicago State University (2003), an MBA from National Louis University (2007), and a Doctorate in Social Work from Aurora University (2023), Tony blends deep academic grounding with real-world impact. 

He has held adjunct teaching roles at Northeastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Chicago, mentoring emerging clinicians in mental health practice. His work includes founding programs such as “Transition to Careers,” which supports returning citizens through job placement integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and launching a nonprofit to support individuals reintegrating into society post-incarceration. 

Dr. Salaam’s clinical expertise spans:

  • Trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship and men's issues

  • Modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, person-centered, and trauma-focused therapies

  • Serving diverse individuals with a strengths-based, holistic, and culturally responsive approach 

At Anda, Dr. Salaam serves as Clinical Supervisor, overseeing interns and pre-licensed clinicians, ensuring rigorous documentation, compassionate care, and Medicaid compliance in our trauma-informed model.

Outside of Anda, he leads as CEO and founder of Branches of Life Institute, continuing his life’s work rooted in healing, empowerment, and access for Black and Brown communities.
